These Men Build Irrigation Pumps to End Hunger!
Africa Windmill Project is Ending Hunger and Poverty. By providing tools and training in sustainable agriculture methods and irrigation technology farmers work and lives are transformed. Africa Windmill Project makes it possible for rural farmers to grow food in the dry season (9 months out of the year). This is why we have our own manufacturing workshop where we design, weld, and fabricate irrigation pumps for farmers, organizations and anyone else who is need of irrigation. If food is grown year round families are food secure. Our hand crank pumps cost $30 in materials and the windmills cost $2100 for materials and installation. Change a Life and Sponsor a Pump Today!
The workshop is led by Mr. Joseph Monosile who is the Project Manager. Joseph oversees all the technical work and he coordinates the procurement of all the parts and materials needed for the development of the pumps. He also makes schedules for the work that takes place at the workshop. Joseph is also a liaison officer who works hand in hand with the Field Coordinators to make sure that assessments of fields for different pumps are done well and that pumps are distributed to the right farmers.
Mr. Yohane Fly is the Pump Technician who is at the center of all the work that the workshop produces. Yohane is an exeptional young man who has vast experience in welding and fabricating. Pumps that are produced at the workshop are a testimony of his hand work. He is a key person in terms of skills and knowledge in as far as welding and fabrication is concerned.
Mr. Mateyu Chimzimu is a welder who has just recently joined the workshop team. Mateyu is a well experienced young man who has been working as a welder for years. Mateyu who is 22 years old is the youngest person on staff, however he is one of the most valued members of the team and is key in terms of meeting the demand for windmills and rope and washer pumps.
The workshop is currently in need of a vehicle so that they can procure materials, deliver and install pumps without using the training teams vehicles. You Can End Hunger by Buying a Truck!
